With a grunt and shudder, Michael took a couple of breaths before rolling off his wife, Pam. He collapsed next to her gasping for breath. With a smile, he looked at her. “Not too bad, eh, baby?”
Pam let out a slow, even breath. “If you say so.”
Michael acted as though he hadn’t heard her and let out a barking laugh. “Yeah, I rocked it.”
She shook her head while watching him, wondering what she’d ever seen in him. At least his final time would be memorable. At least until the poison took effect. Then he’d rock something all right.
