Pity for All
Few things brought Jason as much joy as being alone with his thoughts. It was why he looked forward to his yearly camping trip. All he had to do was finish hiding the body.
He glanced at the blood-covered form laying off to the side and shook his head. The last time someone stepped out in front of his car he hit the brakes, but only because he was in civilization and the laws protected the stupid people from reality.
He wasn’t heartless, as he felt bad for the man. But he also pitied the squirrel he killed for dinner.
