Good morning and welcome to this week’s edition of In the Books, featuring Tales of the Fairy Anthology II: Steampunk Fairies edited by Catherine Stovall.
Disclaimer: I was given a free ebook copy in exchange for my honest review.
About the Book: Never before have magic and machines come together in such a way as brought to you by the sixteen authors, poets, and artists of this collaboration. When the world of the Fae meets Steampunk, all things are possible and there are no limits to the places you will visit, the creatures you will meet, and the technology that you will discover. Put a little magic in your gears and open up your minds and hearts as you enter the world of Steampunk Fairies.
My Review: I don’t normally read and review anthologies, but this was a wonderful read! I’m relatively new to reading Steampunk, but each story captured my interest and left me wanting more. The book opens with a wonderful poem and a fantastic picture to help set the mood.
One of my favorite stories was The Others by Michelle Cornwell-Jordan. I enjoyed the mystery of Sabine’s quest to save her father. The ending was cool and cruel as it left things open for a sequel I hope to read in the near future. (Hint, hint! lol).
All in all, I have to say this is a wonderful introduction, or an addition to any Steampunk fan’s library.
