Good morning and welcome to this week’s edition of In the Books, featuring Jasper, Amazon Parrot: A Rainforest Adventure by Sharon C. Williams.
Disclaimer: I was given a free ebook copy in exchange for an honest review.
About the Book: Jasper learns the importance of family and friendship through a rainforest adventure.
My Review: It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a children’s book, but I have to admit this reignited the child in me. I really enjoyed the innocence of Jasper and his brother Willie as they grew and explored the world around them.
One of my favorite parts was when they were learning to fly. I don’t want to give away too much, but I loved how the author showed their struggles in a humorous way that took away any edge I felt about them. The book carried an innocence similar to when I was a young boy and would get into issues with new things.
Along with the adventure, the story also shares life lessons about making friends, brothers looking out for one another, and obeying the parents’ instructions.
It’s a fun read I’d recommend for people of any age, whether it’s reading to a child or just reliving some long forgotten moments in our lives.
