Something for Max
Max loved many things, but especially his humans.
The last thing he ever wanted was for one of them to leave him. It didn’t matter how long they were gone, all that concerned him was they weren’t with him.
As he sat by the front door, he swore he’d take the cat’s advice and ignore them when they came home. The cat did have a point. She never bothered with them, yet they couldn’t get enough of her.
He didn’t move when the door opened.
“Hey, Max. Here you go, buddy.”
Max’s tail wagged. A treat? Awe, you shouldn’t have.
