Hank jerked the car wheel to avoid another car. Smiling, he said, “Man, maybe we should’ve called an ambulance. Don’t you think?”
When she didn’t respond, he assumed his wife was biting her tongue so he could worry about driving. Man, I’ve got me one helluva woman!
He pulled into the hospital’s emergency entrance and jumped out. “Hey! Hey, I need help! My wife’s in labor!”
A pair of orderlies rushed to the car and stopped.
The one nearest to him said, “Sir, you didn’t bring her.”
“But… that’s not in the manual.”
