The Rough Life
Barbara sat by the campfire as her boyfriend handed her a warm cup of coffee. “Thanks.”
“No problem.” Zeke smiled as he took his seat next to her and sipped his coffee.
The two remained silent for a few minutes until Barbara’s hand squeezed his knee. Smiling, he looked at her and was pleased to see her smiling.
“Ready for bed?”
“Are you sleepy?”
She shook her head and rose to her feet, then headed for the open tent flap.
Zeke tossed his coffee into the fire and turned to follow her. He only hoped the ground was soft enough.
