The snow continued to come down in a thick blanket. Nothing had changed over the last two days except for the sun rising and setting.
Jane turned from the cabin window shaking her head. “I don’t know how much longer it’ll come down, but we can’t wait much longer.”
Her boyfriend looked up from where he sat. His eyes widened at hearing her words. “Wha… what’ll we do? There’s only enough food for—“
He never saw the knife until it struck his throat. She gave him a sad smile.
“Sorry, baby. One of us has to eat to survive.”
