Mike flexed his hand. He’d been holding the marbles for hours and his interest had waned. “Seriously, man. You brought me all the way out here for this?”
Steve smiled at him. “What? You think you’d have more fun somewhere else?”
Mike glared at him.
Steve held up a hand, his smile gone. “Look, I’m sorry but I really need your help.”
“Fine. You sure he’s the one?” Mike nodded toward another teen standing with his friends.
“Yep. Julie told me his name this morning. He’s good, but you’re better.”
“I have a Ryan rookie riding on you.”
