Tabitha leaned to the side, trying to will her ball back onto the lane. When it thumped into the gutter, she turned and groaned.
“Not bad. Six gutter balls in a row has to be some sort of record.” Haley smiled at her, showing off her braces as they danced in the fluorescent lighting.
“Come on, you know the rules. Pay up.”
The four other girls with them giggled.
Why did I agree to this? Sighing, Tabitha muttered, “What now?”
Haley leaned forward. “Have you and Dan ever…you know?”
