Enjoying the Sun
The midday sun beat down on them as they drifted along the river. The current slowed when they reached deeper water, and they’d taken the chance to relax.
Jess lifted her head from watching the logs floating along the bank and turned to her brother. “I think we should find a place to set up camp before the sun fries us.”
Jack looked up from the sports magazine and nodded. “Sounds good, but we’d better wait. See those logs?”
“They ain’t logs.”
“I said the same thing when dad brought me here. The cabin’s just up ahead.”
