“I tell ya, man, I don’t like this. I thought he was supposed to be here an hour ago?”
Eli shook his head and wondered why he had friends. “He was, but he keeps time by the hour later system, remember? When has he ever showed up on time?”
As Eli finished, he looked down at his and his friend’s mutilated bodies lying on the ground. He could barely remember what animal had attacked them.
“Shit. If that asshole wasn’t late again, we wouldn’t be dead.”
Eli looked to the sky, but didn’t see a light. Guess it’s late, too.
