“I’m serious, Carrie, I don’t know what he’ll do next.” Mike sat with his chin in his hands, staring at the floor.
His sister shook her head. “Well, that’s Alec. I warned you.”
He blew out a breath. “I know. I just didn’t think he’d be so damn dumb.”
Carrie chuckled, earning her a nasty look. “Sorry, but you have to admit, he keeps you moving. Better than a gym membership.”
“I know, but really.”
A scratching at the door signaled Alec was ready to come inside.
“So, you want to keep him longer, or should I take him home?”
