Darvo squinted through his electronic magnifying glass. “You’ve found it, Gret. You found our treasure!”
He leaped up and hugged his mate, pulling her along as he danced in joy.
Gret laughed as he pulled her along, grateful something positive had come out of their excavation. After years of trying, they had exhausted every grant possible without any results.
That was the one thing no one forgave. If they spent thousands or millions, most wanted something in exchange. Now, they had a priceless artifact.
“You think it’s genuine?”
He nodded. “Sure is. There aren’t any intact human skulls in existence.”
