Tanya waited by the window since lunch, hoping to see her child coming home from school soon. Though she had no way of knowing what time it was, she knew it wouldn’t be long.
She cocked her head to the side as the school bus’s brakes squeaked.
Tanya stood and wagged her tail as she waited to see her child walk down the street on his way home, then she’d spend the rest of the day with him. After watching him finish his homework, she’d clean up any scraps of food he dropped. Someone had to clean up for him.
