Duke patiently watched the second floor window from his car. Few things in life were as difficult as someone refusing protection.
He shook his head. This was the third person a contract had been put out on in the last month that refused help. What were they thinking? Did they want to die?
He really didn’t understand people. His job was to keep people safe, and the best way to do that was to ensure those refusing protection didn’t give others the same idea. People fending for themselves was bad for business.
Hopefully, the upcoming accident would serve its purpose.
