Terris smiled as he reached the summit and the wind blew into his face, pushing his hair and beard back and making him squint into the orange sunset. It was the first time in days he’d seen sunlight that wasn’t filtered through the tree canopy. The fresh scent and feel of the wind refreshed him, and renewed his desire to finish what he’d set out on.
Looking around, he spotted the oracle stone to his right. Walking to it, he collapsed onto his knees and he reached out.
The vision of his wife appeared.
“Rest, my darling. You’ve done well.”
