“Here we are. What do you think?” Rob smiled as he stood aside so Shirley could see his creation.
Her eyes betrayed little of her emotion, as was her custom. “You did a wonderful job.”
He nodded. “Thank you, I knew you’d appreciate it. Here,” he stepped forward and pushed aside the curtain at the door, “is your cousin’s contribution. He had plenty of skin to share.”
She smiled at how her cousin would’ve screamed through the process and ran her hand over the bones tied together to make the walls.
“It took a village.”
Her eyes widened with glee.
